Cardboard Christmas Tree Decoration

Wow, it’s been over a month since I participated in any link parties. I haven’t had time – not even to look at any of them. I’m sure I missed a ton of great stuff, but my move was worth it!
I’m not putting up a tree this year due to Tessa still being very much an energetic puppy. Knowing her and her antics, she’ll climb to the top of the tree and be the star! That’s just Tessa – the clown and the daredevil.
Well, since I wanted a tree of some sort, I decided to make a tree like these cute stacked wool felt upcycled Christmas trees. Buuutttt, I didn’t want to use up my felted wool material since it’s so expensive. Hmmmm…what to do…what to do? Ahhhhh…cardboard! I certainly have a ton of it from all the moving boxes, and I’ve already worked with it in various crafts, particularly my Funky Fabric Wreath.
So I cut out various circle sizes with corresponding circles in the middle, since I was using an old bottle for the base. I had some curtains that weren’t my style as curtains, but I loved the fabric, so I saved them cuz I knew I’d be using them in a craft one day. Well, they were perfect for this tree. I cut the fabric into strips and wound them around the cardboard cut-outs, and then stacked them on to my bottle. The beginning of each strip was held in place with craft glue.
By the way, pineapple coconut muffins are in the container. Would you like some? ;0)
As I got towards the top, I was getting bored (Craft ADD), so I decided to wrap some specialty ribbon/yarn around the lip of the bottle. I was going to put a star in the top, but since the ribbon had some blue in it, I used a blue glass ornament instead. I put some craft glue along the lip of the bottle and then gently pressed the ornament onto it.
Voila!
