Amelia from Inameliart Artisan Interview

Posted on | December 26, 2011 | 5 Comments

Today’s interview is with Amelia from Inameliart Etsy Shop. No matter if you’re from Poland (where Amelia lives), Poughkeepsie, or wherever, you’ll find these paintings absolutely captivating.

Tell us about your store. What kind of items do you offer?
In my etsy shop you can find a variety of rabbits, elephants, bears, birds and other animals. Each painting is created with great love and acrylic paint on the canvas. You can also find some “unanimalistic” paintings as a special order. Loving mothers ask for a picture of their children’ beloved toys (and these are not always teddy bears) or the child’s portrait.

How long have you had an interest in art?
To tell the truth, I cannot really say how many years. I haven’t lost children’s sensitivity to art. I graduated the Academy of Arts where I learnt and experienced various stages of my creative way.

How did you get started? Did you start by experimenting around, or did you take a class and go from there?
As I mentioned before I graduated the Academy of Arts where I studied, developed and improved my workshop.

Are there any particular mediums you like working with?
Actually, I have tried all the media – the traditional as well as the modern ones. At the moment I am really keen on canvas and acrylic paint. It is a traditional technique that requires some skills which are cultivated by me in the time of digital painting.

Is there anything you eventually want to get in to and master?
I am trying to develop and improve my skills and interests. I am trying to be good at everything – no compromise.

What do you like to do in your spare time?
I spend my free time in my garden or walking with my dogs across nearby wood.

What’s a question you wish I would’ve asked? And please answer that question. :)
“What do you dream about?” I really wish myself to be healthy and happy and even if it sound trivial I wish no wars in the world.

Please include ten fun facts about yourself.
I adore the smell autumn leaves and freshly ploughed soil
I would not leave my garden all day long – there is always something to do…
Since I can remember I do not drink milk and I would not have milk pudding even in a torture chamber.
On holidays – always at the seaside – it gives me energy and power every time.
You can learn anything about me from my paintings – just have a closer look at them and “read” between the lines.
